Protected Natural Areas of Local Importance

A natural area declared protected by a local municipal administration is classified as a protected natural area of local importance. Such areas can fall into two categories: nature conservation areas or natural monuments. The official designation of these areas is the responsibility of local authorities.

 

Currently, there are nine such protected areas in Tata, covering 1,110 hectares in total:

  • Agostyán Tojás-hegy (Egg Hill) (protected since 1992)
  • English Garden of Tata (protected since 1995)
  • Castle Park of Dióspuszta (protected since 1992)
  • Fényes Bath Nature Conservation Area (protected since 1997)
  • Réti Lakes (protected since 1992)
  • Valley of the Tata Árendás Stream (protected since 1999)
  • Tata Old Lake (protected since 1977)
  • Meadows near the Tata Fényes Stream (protected since 1999)
  • Tata Kálvária Hill and its surroundings (protected since 1999)
